Gerard gallucci biography

Gerard “Jerry” Gallucci grew up in northern New Jersey across the Hudson River from the Big Apple. He graduated from Rutgers University in 1973 with a BA in political science and geology and from the University of Pittsburgh in 1978 with a PhD in political theory. He joined the State Department in 1980, serving in Africa and Latin America and at the National Security Council.

After retiring as a Senior Foreign Service Officer in 2005, he served five years as a UN peacekeeper in Kosovo and East Timor. He taught political science at West Virginia Wesleyan (1978) and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (1979), qualitative methodology at the George Washington University (2003) and at Drake University as diplomat-in-residence (2013-14).

He has presented papers on Kosovo and the Balkans at the LBJ School of Public Affairs (University of Austin), to the CIA Red Cell and for the Aspen Institute (Germany) conference on The Euro-Atlantic Integration of the Western Balkans 2015-2020, Ohr
